As the Director of Shooting Stars Montessori School, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. My qualifications include:

NAMC Montessori Certification: Completed in 2020, equipping me with the specialized knowledge and skills necessary for implementing and managing a Montessori educational environment.
Business Degree: Obtained from Kansas State University, providing a strong foundation in management, organizational skills, and strategic planning.
Experience with Children: Several years of hands-on experience working with children in various settings, both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of child development and educational best practices.

Hello, my name is Tayler Horton, and I am the Director and Co-owner of Shooting Stars Montessori School. I earned my Business degree from Kansas State University and have been dedicated to Shooting Stars since our opening in 2020. In the same year, I completed my NAMC Montessori Certification, bringing several years of experience working with children both inside and outside the classroom to our school.

Early Inspiration

Growing up, I was always passionate about working with children, inspired by my mother, who has run an in-home daycare for over 25 years. Her dedication and care for children have profoundly influenced my approach to education and childcare. I am excited to incorporate everything she taught me into our school and classrooms, ensuring a nurturing and enriching environment for all our students.

Personal Life

In January 2022, I married my wonderful husband, and we welcomed our son, Jett, in January 2023. We live in Olathe with our two sweet doodles, Marvin and Milo. We bought our first house in April 2021 and have enjoyed making it our own. Outside of school, we spend quality time with our families in Topeka or explore new places in Kansas City with Jett. Being parents has been an incredible journey, and I love sharing my work with my son, making Shooting Stars our home away from home.

At Shooting Stars, I am passionate about bringing creativity to our classrooms and watching our children grow every day. I am committed to fostering a strong sense of community among our families. Building lasting relationships with parents and children is one of my greatest joys. I am truly committed to our Montessori program, our dedicated teachers, the wonderful families we serve, and the supportive community we have built together.
